Client Service Representative  

The Client Service Representative is to serve as the frontline liaison between clients and lab operations. Communicate with clients to assist or direct all inquiries.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Communicate with clients to assist with or direct all inquiries
  • Work in conjunction wtih Sample Management and Account Managers to ensure client satisfaction
  • Answering incoming calls and greeting client walk-ins
  • Receive environmental samples from walk-in clients and couriers including sample log in
  • Various general office and administrative tasks
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.

Qualifications:

Minimum High School.  Service and or Lab experience is not essential but would be considered beneficial. 

Future Positions:

 

Business Development Representatives

Location: Hamilton/Niagara Region and GTA Region

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and sell to existing client base through client calls and other means to grow existing client base.
  • Prospect for new clients through networking, cold calls and other means.
  • Participate in industry functions, tradeshows and client events both on and off regular business hours.
  • Interact and communicate closely with Account Managers and Client Service representatives.
  • Participate in client kick-off meetings related to major contracts/projects and other client meetings as necessary.
  • Provide quotations and pricing information to clients.
  • Possess a clear understanding of the regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate a positive corporate attitude and to act as an ambassador.
  • Provide Clients with timely and accurate information by consulting with appropriate staff as required.
  • Comply with company QA/QC and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary Education in an Environmental Science based discipline or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of customer service, or sales related experience.
  • Experience in the construction or engineering consulting services or drilling would be an asset.
  • Drive and self-motivation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Strong ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously to manage projects effectively.
  • Organized, efficient and detail-oriented.
  • Strong interest and willingness to learn about products and customer needs.
  • Entrepreneurial-minded.

 Junior Analyst - Chemistry 

The Junior Analyst is responsible for performing analyses within a discrete section of the laboratory (i.e. Organic division, Inorganic division or Microbiology division).  This involves sample analysis, instrument calibration, standards/reagent preparation according to established methods and QC protocols and assistance on research projects under the direct supervision of the Senior Analyst and/or Lab Director.

 The Junior Analyst job description applies to full-time entry level positions as well as part-time summer students or co-op students from recognized technical programs such as biochemical, microbiology, chemistry and environmental studies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all tests are performed according to the established in-house protocols
  • Performing analyses and preparation of lab standards and reagents for both routine and research related analyses
  • Performing analysis QC
  • Assist in collating and tabulating data from experimental scientific research
  • May be responsible for requisitioning supplies

Qualifications:

B.Sc. or Chemical/Biology/Biochemistry Technology Diploma or equivalent - laboratory specific.

Individuals applying for part-time positions such as summer or co-op students must be enrolled in a recognized technical program such as biochemical, microbiology, chemistry or environmental studies.  Related lab experience is not essential but would be considered beneficial.

Intermediate Analyst - Chemistry 

The Intermediate Analyst is responsible for coordinating and performing analyses within a discrete section of the laboratory (i.e. Organic division, Inorganic division or Microbiology division).  This involves sample analysis according to established methods and QC protocols as well as assisting in scientific research.  The Intermediate Analyst may also participate in method development and validation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all tests are performed according to the established in-house protocols
  • Responsible for coordinating and performing analyses and preparation of lab standards and reagents
  • Checking and verification of QC data
  • In conjuction with the Senior Analyst, monitoring the workload status on an on-going basis
  • Responsible for requisitioning supplies
  • Assistance in scientific research

Qualifications:

B.Sc. or Chemical/Biology/Biochemistry Technology Diploma, section specific, with two years of relevant experience.
