MOE Clarification Notice on Field and Analytical Requirements

During an August 5, 2011 TAG meeting, the MOE provided clarification to several issues in regards to O. Reg. 179/11 and the Analytical Protocols document. A Memorandum of Clarification is forthcoming from the MOE. In the interim, Paracel is providing a summary of these clarifications.

Notice on June 30 Revised Analytical Protocols Document - VOCs in Soil

On June 30, 2011, the MOE reposted a revised Analytical Protocols document. This revision contains a statement on page 18 regarding the use of the 2004 sampling technique for purgeables in soil (F1/BTEX/VOCs/1,4-dioxane). When filing for a Record of Site Condition after July 1, 2011, the MOE is now allowing the use of the 2004 sampling protocol for purgeables in soils collected prior to July 1/11 . Providing that the samples were collected within 18 months of the RSC filing and before July 1, 2011, purgeable data from soils collected in a jar (no headspace) are now acceptable.

The location is managed by Tyler Sheridan and he can provide you with any sampling or analytical requirements you may have including sample pickups, quotes, supply orders and he can help with any other general inquiries. The location also provides after-hours access for sample supplies and sample drop off.
